Several of Washington state's top high school boys basketball teams are set to play in a national showcase put on by NBA star Kevin Durant — and won't have to travel far.

The National Hoopfest series, a multi-city event, will make a stop in Seattle on Dec. 4-5. Eastside Catholic, Garfield and Olympia have agreed to participate, and O'Dea is expected to finalize an agreement to participate in the coming days.

The Fighting Irish putting pen to paper sets up potential matchups between Paolo Banchero, one of the country's top recruits in the class of 2021, and Oak Hill Academy and Sunrise Christian Academy (Kansas), two of the top high school basketball programs in the country, according to a report.

Each Washington team features a high-level Division I recruit. Olympia's 6-foot-10 four-star Jackson Grant, a Washington commit, will be a senior as well as four-stars Nolan Hickman and Shane Nowell of Eastside Catholic, both seniors, and Garfield's Jaylin Stewart and Koren Johnson.

A location for the event has not been finalized, but several coaches indicated the event is eyeing Garfield as a host.

The National Hoopfest, established as the Penny Hardaway Classic in 2011, has featured several NBA lottery picks and a long list of Division I talent. This is the first time the event has come to the state of Washington.

The series will also make stops in Memphis, Washington D.C. and Tampa.
