Stanford-bound quarterback Elijah Brown, 5-star running back Jordon Davison and their top-ranked Mater Dei teammates wasted little time jumping on Hawaii power Kahuku en route to a 55-8 home victory on Saturday night.

Brown threw the first of two touchdown passes — he had four overall — to Marcus Brown, Davison added TD runs of 15 and 20 yards and the Monarchs (4-0) were out to a quick 21-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Mater Dei, No. 1 in the SBLive National Power 25 rankings, scored four touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 41-8 halftime lead.

Kahuku (4-1), who had outscored opponents 184-57 coming in, actually closed to 34-8 late in the second quarter on a rushing touchdown by Aaron Fonoimoana-Vaomu.

But Mater Dei zipped right down the field and scored right before halftime on the second TD pass from Elijah Brown to Marcus Brown, making it 41-8.

Elijah Brown added a 21-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Harris in the third quarter before Daryus Dixson put the finishing touches on this one with a pick 6. The Mater Dei defense also contributed earlier on a Ramere Davis scoop and score.

Mater Dei takes a week off, before visiting winless St. Frances Academy in Baltimore on Sept. 22. Kahuku gets no rest and hosts the nation's No. 2 team and Mater Dei rival St. John Bosco on Sept. 16.
