Snapdragon Stadium to host San Diego Section Open Division football championship

The 2023 San Diego Section Open Division football championship game will be played at Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley on Saturday, November 18, according to the San Diego Section championship bulletin.

Snapdragon Stadium, which is built on the former site of Qualcomm Stadium, will host the championship game for San Diego's top division for the second straight year. The stadium is home for the San Diego State football team and opened in September 2022.

Division 1-4 will play their championship games at Southwestern College the following weekend. Championship games for division 5, 5AA and 6 will play their games at Escondido High School

Lincoln orchestrated a comeback in the 2022 championship game, scoring 22 points in the fourth quarter to defeat Carlsbad 28-24.
