When Jeris McIntyre was named the head coach of his alma mater Tampa Catholic six years ago, it was a dream come true. 

Now the McIntyre will be stepping away as head football coach of the Crusaders. 

McIntyre confirmed to SBLive Sports Florida that he has stepped down as Tampa Catholic’s head football coach. The former Auburn standout leaves with an overall record of 45-25. 

Down below is a statement from McIntyre on his departure from Tampa Catholic. 

“It has been a pleasure leading the Tampa Catholic Crusaders for the last 6 seasons. Today, I will be stepping down as the Head Football Coach. I would like to thank all of my players, coaches, parents, and others for your support over these last 6 years! I'm excited about what the future will hold.” 

During McIntyre’s time as the Crusaders’ head coach, he coached Power Five level players like Lewis Carter (Oklahoma), TJ Moore (Clemson signee) and Eddy Pierre-Louis (Oklahoma signee). 

McIntyre stepping down is the second head coach in as many days from what was Class 2M, to announce his resignation.
