Liberty Christian and Lafayette have a combined 21-game winning streak, but one of their streaks will have to come to an end on Saturday when the two teams face off in the Virginia VHSL Class 3 state championship.

On paper, Liberty Christian has the upper hand with an offensive line that averages more than 270 pounds while Lafayette barely tops 200, but the Rams have been defying the odds all season and will look to pull off the upset Saturday.

Liberty Christian (13-0)

The Bulldogs beat Class 4 state title contender Salem by seven points in Week 1, but that was their only close game of the year. 

They have held every opponent to two touchdowns or less this season and average more than 45 points per game. 

Lafayette (12-2)

The Rams last lost in the first week of October and since then they've shut out five of their opponents while allowing just one to score more than seven points. 

They have been dominant on both sides of the ball this year with an average margin of victory of more than 35 points in their 12 wins.
