Carmelo Anthony is an NBA player currently on the New York Knicks. He won the scoring title in 2013 and is a seven-time All-Star.
The Denver Nuggets selected Anthony with the No. 3 pick in the 2003 draft after he led Syracuse to an NCAA title in his freshman season. He finished second in Rookie of the Year voting behind LeBron James.
As a rookie, Anthony led the Nuggets to 26 more wins than the previous year as they made the playoffs for the first time since 1995.
The Nuggets made the playoffs in all seven of Anthony’s seasons with the team, losing in the first round each time except for 2009, when they reached the Western Conference Finals.
In February 2011, Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks to team with Amar’e Stoudemire in the team’s frontcourt.
Anthony won the scoring title in 2013 and finished No. 3 in MVP voting as the Knicks won 54 games. They defeated the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs before losing to the Indiana Pacers.
Anthony signed a five-year, $124 million contract to stay with the Knicks in July 2014, declining offers from the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets.
