Another transfer, another player headed to the Rocky Mountains.

After entering his name into the portal on Jan. 17, former Alabama linebacker Demouy Kennedy announced his transfer to Deion Sanders and Colorado on Wednesday morning.

Kennedy was a member of the Crimson Tide for three seasons from 2020-2022. He was a valued member on special teams, making eight total tackles in 24 games.

Kennedy suffered a season-ending injury against Arkansas on Oct. 1, 2022.

As a prospect, Kennedy was the No. 3 ILB in the Class of 2020 — and the top player from the state of Alabama. Kennedy played his high school ball at Theodore High School.

Coming to Tuscaloosa, many believed Kennedy was one of the most athletic linebackers in the entire class — and would more than likely get an opportunity for head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.

However, he never really saw time on a loaded, veteran Alabama defense.

Many Crimson Tide fans saw his departure as a surprise, as the linebacking unit for Alabama will need to do a lot of replacing in 2023-24. The Crimson Tide is losing Henry To'o To'o, Jaylen Moody and Will Anderson Jr. from this year's team.

Kennedy is the most recent of several transfers to commit to Sanders and the Buffaloes.
