The 24-year-old Crimson Tide product has spent two years with New England since being drafted by the them 15th overall in 2021. His all-time record is 16-and-15 with a 6,798 passing yards, and 36 touchdowns while completing 66.5 percent of his throws.
The NFL community has been quick to critique Jones of his lack of throwing deep during the regular season. This can be partly blamed on offensive coordinator Matt Partricia, but millions watched him launch it DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle throughout his time in Tuscaloosa.
The addition of wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster this offseason could influence Jones and the Patriots front office to reach a deal for him to remain in New England, but that is uncertain at this time.
Joining a team like the Buccaneers would give Jones a fresh start in a solid offensive system with Pro Bowl wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
Tampa Bay is still likely searching for a quarterback after NFL legend Tom Brady retired this offseason, even though they signed Baker Mayfield on March 15.
The Washington Commanders could also be a good fit as he's pair up with Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin, speedy receivers Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel and former Alabama teammate running back Brian Robinson Jr.
Washington is also likely searching for a quarterback after releasing quarterback Carson Wentz on Feb. 27, but they still have NFL sophomore Sam Howell as an option under center.
