TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Crimson Tide took down the Troy Trojans 11-8 on Saturday night to stay unbeaten in the Tuscaloosa Regional.

The Trojans were one out away from its first win over Alabama since 2019, but a never say die attitude combined with a Troy throwing error sent the home crowd home happy.

"That's just kind of their personality. That's kid of their "M.O." with everything that they do. These guys are an older, a very resilient group and they love each other, they love playing for each other," said Alabama interim head coach Jason Jackson.

"That dugout, they never think they're out of it. We have a lot of firepower offensively. We've got depth on the mound and they really believe in each other so I think those things go a long way. "

The Alabama offense was hot from the outset of the game as the Tide loaded up the bases in the first inning but unfortunately stranded everyone and was held scoreless.

The second inning picked up right where the Bama bats left off, with junior outfielder Caden Rose doing the scoring damage with a 2-run blast.

"I knew the scouting report on the pitcher they had was that he would be throwing away and to be honest I was just trying to hit a ground ball to second base and I was looking for something out over the plate to do that with and I ended up getting a good pitch," said Rose on his home run.

Troy pushed Alabama throughout the evening, scoring five runs in the third to take the lead, one in the fifth to tie and two in the sixth to retake the lead for the final time.

The Tide never folded, scoring four in the fourth to take the lead, one in the sixth to take the lead and finally four in the ninth to complete the comeback and win the game.

The offense mustered 13 hits and left 13 men on base but when it was all said and done it was Alabama going to sleep the winners

"These guys right here sitting beside me accounted for five hits and five runs scored and four RBIs, just a huge night for both these guys," said Jackson. "We left a lot of guys on base. We ended up leaving 13 on base, I think. We had a lot of traffic. We did a great job getting on base. We did a great job creating innings. Then we ended up getting a couple big hits to kind of get some runs on the board. But shoot - I think with the amount of traffic we had it could have even been more."
