The Extra Point: Did The 2023 Iron Bowl Top The 2021 4-OT Iron Bowl?

Year after year, few rivalries provide jaw-dropping finishes quite like the Iron Bowl.
After Jalen Milroe and Isaiah Bond's epic 4th-and-31 conversion to save Alabama's college football playoff hopes, many have pondered where the play stands on a greater scale in Crimson Tide lore.
In 2021, Alabama quarterback Bryce Young led a last-minute touchdown drive and eventual 4-OT comeback to defeat Auburn 24-22 — with John Metchie securing the game-winning score. While the Milroe-Bond connection had a significantly higher shock value, was the game as a whole better?
Prior to the game, Milroe elaborated on what he learned from Young's performance in 2021.
"It shows nothing but how great of a leader Bryce Young is," Milroe said. "His mental toughness, willing to lead the offense through every situation. And then, our whole team as a whole. They showed mental toughness, they showed grit, they showed we can finish. They showed all kind of different areas– we talk about naysayers, we talk about people that doubt Alabama as a team– that was an opportunity for us to sustain throughout a game and then push through all external factors."
