BYU DL Michael Daley to Enter the Transfer Portal

On Monday, BYU head coach Kalani Sitake announced that defensive lineman Michael Daley intends to enter the transfer portal when the transfer window opens.
"Michael Daley is no longer with the program," Sitake told the media on Monday. "He expressed his interest in entering the portal when it does open, so we are still honoring his scholarship, keeping him on scholarship, encouraging him to get his schoolwork done and allowing himself to be eligible for that window when it does open. Love him, love his family. Appreciate all of the hard work that he’s done since he’s been here, just wish him the best. Once a Cougar, always a Cougar. Nothing but love for Michael and his family.”
Michael Daley is a sophomore from nearby Lone Peak High School and the older brother of John Henry Daley who is still on the roster. Naturally, BYU fans wondered whether John Henry would enter the transfer portal with his older brother. John Henry was a coveted recruit that just joined the program a few months ago after returning home from his mission. It's worth noting that John Henry appeared in his first game for BYU against TCU last Saturday. He played 18 total snaps. After the game, John Henry was moved up to the backup defensive end behind Isaiah Bagnah.
In three years with the program, Michael never found a consistent spot in the rotation. In four games this season, Michael played just 12 snaps on defense. He played a role on BYU's special teams on the kickoff cover team.
