2025 Cornerback Jermaine Jones Talks 'Dream School' Visit With Cincinnati Bearcats

A talented prospect in the 2025 class.

TUNNEL HILL — The Cincinnati Bearcats had a bunch of visitors recently and one of them goes by the nickname Kool-Aid.

2025 Illinois cornerback prospect Jermaine Jones recapped his visit. The Bolingbrook corner is a two-star talent on Rivals.

“The visit was amazing,” Jones stated to Bearcats Talk. “I’m glad I went. I had a great time with the coaches and the facilities were incredible. They showed me the dorm rooms, the weight room the meeting rooms, and the coach's offices and everything was super renovated. I got a chance to be at the practice up close and really see how the Bearcats do things it was a lot of drills but it was super organized still, they did a great job of breaking down practice, and the energy was off the charts, very competitive atmosphere.”

He had a very uplifting response when talking about the coaches.

“The coaches are easy to talk to, the campus and facilities are amazing, at safety you have to always be ready and be able to hit, practice is very competitive," Jones said. "Coach (Tyson) Veidt is who I connected with the most for sure, he’s a really cool guy and he’s so passionate about everything he does, he seemed really interested in me and my family he even sat down and ate with us, and then seeing him coach really showed that he genuinely cares for the team and wants his players to get better.”

Jones conducted some notes on the defensive backs.

“They play aggressively and fast, they need to able to come down and make a play whether it’s an interception or a PBU they always need to be in a position to make a play.”

Jones mentioned what he believed made the Bearcats special.

“The competitive but organized atmosphere. Cincinnati has a plan for each individual to succeed and develop. They track each and every person's individual weights, speed, and measurements every day and give you a plan for you to get better and stronger!”

Jones also willingly stated that Cincinnati is a dream school and they will be in his top schools no matter what.

“Without a doubt, they will always be a top school for me and nothing will change that. They’ve been a dream school for me since I was a kid.”
