Report: Cincinnati Extends Wes Miller's Contract

The second-year coach is implementing his culture at Cincinnati.

CINCINNATI — The UC Bearcats have extended Wes Miller's contract.

According to multiple reports, Miller is doubling his salary and more on a new deal that runs through the 2028-29 season.

The Bearcats men's basketball coach is now making an average annual salary of $2.95 million. That is up from $1.31 million as reports indicate the Board of Trustees will approve the deal on Wednesday that originally lasted through 2026.

The new deal affirms UC's confidence in Miller following a 24-19 start to his UC career.

I preached patience in this week's Miami preview, and UC's leadership agrees. Miller has two top-55 recruits on the way in Rayvon Griffith and Jizzle James.

That duo will play a big factor in how much Big-12 success UC has early on. One thing is for sure, athletic director John Cunningham believes his first major coach hire at UC is the long-term solution in Clifton.
