CINCINNATI — The Bearcats moved quickly when one of the nation's best scoring guards entered the transfer portal, and now he is slated for an unofficial visit. According to Jon Rothstein, Detroit Mercy senior guard Antoine Davis is visiting Maryland, Kansas State, Georgetown, and Cincinnati.

The 22nd-leading scorer in college basketball history (2,734), Davis averaged 24.6 points per game in four seasons in Detroit and has a great chance to finish top-two in total points scored all-time due to the pandemic eligibility year. He will finish second all-time in scoring to Pete Maravich (3,667 points) if he maintains that career average.

At 6-foot-1, 165 pounds, the 2021-22 first-team All-Horizon player won't help Cincinnati much defensively. He is famously poor on that end allowing a 110-plus point defensive rating in all four seasons.

That being said, Davis can fill it up and could be hidden next to better defenders. Anytime a veteran, heady scorer is available it's always worth the time. Numbers like a 24.2 PER (fourth in Horizon) and 56.7% true shooting (12th in Horizon) make it realistic that his game could translate in a harder league. Davis also posted two top-10 steal seasons in the Horizon during his career.

According to Evan Miya, Davis is the 79th-ranked transfer overall and the 27th-ranked point guard.
