Dan Orlovsky: Desmond Ridder 'Has The Best Quarterbacking Tape' in 2022 NFL Draft
CINCINNATI — Analysts throughout the draft process have raved about Desmond Ridder's intelligence, and ESPN's Dan Orlovsky is one of them. The former Lions quarterback broke down Ridder's game and the elite "quarterbacking" that he displayed at Cincinnati.
"He's got the best quarterbacking tape," Orlovsky said on NFL Live. "That doesn't mean I think he's the best or most impressive, that means that he's got the best pre-snap and post-snap operation. Getting to the line of scrimmage, understanding what the defense is doing. Maybe it's getting in and out of run checks—maybe it's changing to protection. You gotta communicate all that to your football team."
Orlovsky uses a clip from UC's win over Indiana to drive home his point. Ridder is the consensus 33rd-ranked prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft and the third-best quarterback behind Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett.
