Report: Wes Miller Adds Johns Hopkins Head Coach Josh Loeffler to Staff

The Bearcats start their Big 12 gauntlet this fall.

CINCINNATI — UC men's basketball head coach Wes Miller has added another coach to his staff ahead of the program's first season in the Big 12.

The Field of 68's Rob Dauster reports that Johns Hopkins head coach Josh Loeffler is the newest Bearcat.

The D III coach has the second-most wins in Johns Hopkins history through four years (89). He just led the Blue Jays to a 23-4 record and its third Centennial Conference Tournament title in the past four seasons. The Blue Jays sat as high as 10th in the nation on its way to the NCAA Tournament.

"I'm excited to announce Josh Loeffler as a key addition to our staff," Miller said in a press release. "He brings a strong head coaching resume to go with a wealth of experience at the Division I level. Josh is one of the bright young minds of college basketball. He thinks and teaches the game with detail and creativity. He also brings a lot of experience working closely with campus leaders and support staff. I believe he is a great addition to our coaching staff as we move to the Big 12."

Loeffler joins the staff as another coach leaves. The Athletic's Justin Williams reported that assistant Mike Roberts has completed his two-year contract and will not return to the bench.
