The Good, Bad, And Ugly From Cincinnati's 76-74 Win Over UCF
TUNNEL HILL — The Cincinnati Bearcats snuck a win over the UCF Knights on the road Saturday. The final ended 76-74 in favor of the Bearcats. Wes Miller decided to go with a small lineup in this one and pushed the right buttons for a win.
"We were so good early with the small lineup so I made the decision that I felt was best to win the game," Miller said about playing Viktor Lakhin less than a minute in the victory.
Here's the Good, Bad, and Ugly from Cincinnati's season sweep of UCF.
The Good: Aziz Bandaogo had 13 points and 8 rebounds for the Bearcats which was a huge single-player performance. He shot 5-of-7 from the field in his great outing. The Bearcats had 12 more rebounds than the Knights in the game as well. He was a huge factor in the glass impact on a day when Cincinnati needed all of the boards.
The Bad: It wasn't the greatest free throw performance for UC. Cincinnati barely shot over 60% from the line, while the Knights shot nearly 78%.
The Ugly: The three-point shooting as a whole wasn’t great. Shooting 7-of-26 from behind the line usually won’t cut it, but the Bearcats had enough rebounds to win this game. UC weathered a 41.8% shooting day to still post 76-plus points for the first time since the TCU victory on Jan. 16.
