Alec Pierce, Mike Boone Perform Well on Thursday Night Football

The former Bearcats made plays throughout the game.

CINCINNATI — Two former Bearcats took center stage on Thursday Night Football this week. Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce and Denver Broncos running back Mike Boone both impressed in the Colts' 12-9 OT victory.

Pierce posted a career-high and team-high eight catches for 81 yards, including an eye-popping catch late in the game.

His QB Matt Ryan had some glowing thoughts about Pierce in his postgame interview on Amazon Prime.

"It's huge for him. He continues to build confidence every week," Ryan said after the game. "I think he could be a really good player in this league for a long time. … He's special. He's played great for us. I've got a lot of confidence in him."

Pierce blew away his previous career-highs after notching seven catches for 141 yards in his first three NFL games.

On the other sideline, Boone racked up 38 rushing yards on seven carries and added three catches for 47 receiving yards. He is getting more run due to the season-ending injury to Javonte Williams and took advantage last night.

Boone played running back at UC from 2014-17, totaling 2,250 yards and 24 touchdowns on 420 carries.
