CINCINNATI — UC quarterback Ben Bryant met with the media on Tuesday ahead of this week's Battle for the Victory Bell against Miami (OH).

Check out some of his notable comments from the session.

On what he worked on last week after the loss to Arkansas:

I think just overall chemistry with the offense. Obviously, there's a new group of people in there kind of working together, and I think we just worked on building that chemistry, and we're going to continue to do that.

On Evan Prater getting into the win against Kennesaw State:

Evan's done such a good job—he's gotten so much better. And I've been able to witness that. But I don't really like to compare myself to other people or look at it like that I just worry about myself, and at the end of the day, I just want to win games, and that's the thing that's most important to me. So I'm not gonna worry about any other people, but Evan's done a really good job, and I'm super proud of him, and he's gonna continue to get better.

On what he wants to keep improving on throughout the rest of this season:

I want to continue my development as a leader. And I think that that's really important at the quarterback position, someone who can lead the team, lead the offense, and have that kind of one voice. Kind of like what Desmond (Ridder) had—he had that really strong, powerful role. And I want to kind of keep developing that role for myself. And I'm excited to continue to work on that throughout the season. I think the leadership thing would be the biggest thing.

On respecting the rivalry against Miami:

Yeah, I think we're reminded every day he (Luke Fickell) really emphasized that, and we don't take that lightly. So it's really important to respect the rivalry like Coach Fick has preached to us and we're really looking forward to that challenge this week.
