Former UC Coaching Candidate Sean Lewis Joining Deion Sanders Colorado Staff

The Buffs are getting ready to load the roster with talent.

CINCINNATI — One of UC's reported top candidates to land the now-filled head football coach role is coaching at Colorado. Kent State head coach Sean Lewis is taking the offensive coordinator job under Deion Sanders.

Reports mentioned Lewis as a legit candidate to coach UC throughout last week. The hiring means CU will use a high-tempo offense, a Lewis specialty. He's joining the party in Boulder as Sanders gets ready to turn over his current 1-11 roster for top-tier talent in the transfer portal.

Last year's No. 1 overall recruit Travis Hunter, already made it clear he wants to transfer to CU. The portal's barely been open 24 hours and already has over 1,000 players in the mix, including a handful of Bearcats ready to explore new homes.

In Clifton, Scott Satterfield made the perfect call to stay as far away from the Fenway Bowl as possible. One could argue these next two weeks before signing day is the most important stretch of Satterfield's first year.

Making sure the new staff salvages this recruiting class and lands some impact transfers is vital heading into a major Big-12 talent jump.
