Report: UC Playing Louisville in 2022 Fenway Bowl

One of UC's biggest rivals is back on the schedule.

CINCINNATI — UC Football is playing in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl against Lousiville. The Keg of Nails is back as Cincinnati faces off against the Cardinals at Fenway Park, with kickoff set for 11 a.m. ET.

The Athletic's Justin Williams broke the news, as Cincinnati prepares for the game without Luke Fickell.

DBs coach Kerry Coombs is now the interim head coach and is very excited to give this roster a fun bowl season experience.

Louisville finished 7-5 in 2022 under head coach Scott Satterfield and was the third-best team in the AAC. Cincinnati has played Lousiville the second-most times of any school in program history (Miami 60 meetings).

According to Sports Reference, UC is 22-22-1 all-time against the Cardinals, with this matchup set to break the tie.

The two sides have not matched up since 2013, a 31-24 Louisville win.
