Report: UC Freshman QB Luther Richesson Enters Transfer Portal

The first Elite 11 finalist to sign with UC is looking for a fresh start.

CINCINNATI — Freshman UC quarterback Luther Richesson is searching for greener pastures before the start of his first season in college football. According to Chad Brendel and Justin Williams, Richesson has entered the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound passer is pacing for third on the Bearcats' depth chart this far into camp and it prompted him to head in a different direction.

The first Elite 11 finalist to ever sign with the Bearcats, Richesson looks like he wants a path to start much quicker than he can at UC. Evan Prater is just a redshirt sophomore, and Ben Bryant has two years of eligibility remaining. All while Brady Lichtenberg took a big step in his development this summer as an incoming sophomore.

Add in the commitment of fellow Elite 11 QB Brady Drogosh in 2023, and this room gets crowded fast. We'll see how quickly Richesson can find a new home after choosing UC over Michigan State and Vanderbilt.
