UC Linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. Accepts Shrine Bowl Invite

The Bearcats star has shot up NFL Draft boards this season.

CINCINNATI —Ivan Pace Jr. is the latest Bearcat to accept a developmental bowl invite.

He is headed to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada on Feb. 2, 2023.

"The East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation," The game's website reads. "An important part of America’s football tradition, the event gives top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience. This year, the East-West Shrine Bowl is part of the NFL’s Pro Bowl Week events in Las Vegas, Nevada."

Pace now joins a tradition that began back in 1925 and affirms his aspirations to play in the NFL.

The 2022 AAC Defensive Player of the Year is tracking towards consensus All-American status after tallying 120 tackles, 19.5 TFLs, and 9.0 sacks this season. The TFLs rank third in the nation, while 120 stops are seventh-most in the country and his 9 sacks rank 14th.

It would be shocking if Pace doesn't declare for the 2023 NFL Draft in the coming weeks. The consensus big board has him ranked 195th overall, and 13th among linebackers.
