Lance Stephenson Posts Historic 20-Point First Quarter With Indiana Pacers

The Pacers guard had his air guitar blasting on Wednesday night.

CINCINNATI — Lance Stephenson is back in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers, and he went off to open Wednesday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Stephenson had 20 points in the first quarter, including a buzzer-beater to put the cherry on top of a rare NBA performance. Stephenson is the first bench player in NBA history to score 20-plus points in the first quarter.

He finished with a (Pacers career-high) 30 points, three rebounds, and five assists in the Pacers 129-121 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Stephenson joined the Pacers on New Year's Day after his 10-day contract with Atlanta expired.

Stephenson played at Cincinnati for one season. He was the 2009-10 Big East Rookie of the Year with UC and led all Big East freshmen in scoring that season (12.3 PPG).
