2023 UC Commit Amare Snowden Named to 247Sports' Freaks List

The athletic cornerback is also playing baseball at UC.

CINCINNATI — 247Sports released its freaks list for the 2023 football recruiting class, and UC landed one star in the group. Roseville (Michigan) Cornerback Amare Snowden checked in at No. 28.

"Cincinnati had nine players selected in the most recent NFL Draft," Andrew Ivins wrote. "If you’re wondering which Bearcats’ commit has the best chance of eventually walking across the stage and shaking Roger Goodell’s hand, look no further than Amare Snowden. He’s a 6-foot-3 defensive back with high-end ball skills that seem to be a product of his baseball background as he claims that he learned how to play angles while patrolling centerfield. Snowden, who is also planning to pitch for the Bearcats, is a lefty that has topped out at 88 MPH on the radar gun. As a junior, he threw three no-hitters for Michigan’s Roseville High. Snowden also played basketball as a freshman and there are some clips floating around of him dunking. Could he be the next Sauce Gardner?"

According to 247Sports consensus, Snowden is the 403rd-ranked player in the class and the 39th-ranked cornerback. Snowden holds over 40 offers but is taking his talents to UC.

Snowden has some initial trouble with a quick first step from receivers, but his frame and athleticism are making up for that at Roseville. Mix in a nasty edge in open-field tackling and an unteachable knack for tracking/intercepting the ball and you get another tantalizing cornerback prospect headed to Clifton.
