GAINESVILLE, Fla.-- The Florida Gators on Thursday hit the field for its 11th practice of spring camp, with the media invited to cover a 40-minute portion of warmups and on-air individual drills before a press conference after practice.

Two Defenders are Full-Go

For the first time in spring camp, linebacker Myles Graham and defensive lineman Kamran James were seen in regular jerseys after donning non-contact jerseys throughout camp. Both players dealt with shoulder injuries entering camp, with Graham recovering from offseason surgery and beginning camp as a rehab participant in the indoor.

Graham returned to participating in position drills on Tuesday.

"He's one of those guys I've learned real fast to tell him, 'Whoa, whoa, whoa,' not, 'Giddy up.'
We put him out there in an orange jersey, which means you're non-contact," head coach Jon Sumrall told Florida Gators on SI. "... And he's out there trying to like just absolutely start crushing people. I'm like, 'Easy bro.'
Like, the no contact means people aren't allowed to contact you and you can't contact them either. Because he just wants the pop pads, that's who he is."

James, meanwhile, has participated in position drills in every spring practice and has quickly emerged as a vocal leader on the defensive line.

“Yeah, it's been good. You know with Kam James, he's picking up on some of the new techniques and the new processes, and it's been good," Gerald Chatman said earlier in camp. "He's an experienced player, and I think that he'll continue to detail his work, and he'll have some improvements as well.”

Singleton Jr. Shining

While returning Vernell Brown III and Dallas Wilson, Florida's receiver room was elevated further by Eric Singleton Jr.'s decision to transfer to the Gators. Singleton Jr., who previously played for UF offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner at Georgia Tech and for receivers coach Marcus Davis at Auburn, detailed his decision to come to Florida on Wednesday,

Singleton Jr. cited his familiarity with Faulkner, Davis, inside receivers coach Trent McKnight and multiple former Georgia Tech players on the roster as a big factor as well as his previous season at Auburn.

"It was a tough decision overall," he said. "You know, I was out there training. I don't know, I just wasn't really satisfied with how my last season went, and I feel like I have a lot more to prove.”

While Florida works through figuring out its receiver rotation, Singleton Jr., unsurprisingly, is making a strong case to be an instant contributor. Still, Florida is hoping he continues to grow as a leader despite being a newcomer.

"He’s naturally a quiet guy, so the challenge for him is, still, ‘Alright, this is your fourth year in college. Show it by how you lead. Show it by how you help guys get lined up,’" Davis said on Thursday. "I always go from an area of not what you are doing well, but what can you do better? That’s one of the things I challenge him, because he knows this offense. I challenge him to operate in that manner, operate in that way, because that’s what can take the offense to the next level."

Stricklin Speaks on Stadium

Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin on Tuesday revealed to reporters that Florida has no plans to reduce capacity in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium as an extensive renovation nears its start. Looking to become more ADA-compliant while upgrading amenities around the stadium.

The renovations, expected to cost over $400 million as a result of its updated plans to not reduce capacity, are currently slated to begin sometime after the 2027 season before concluding before the 2030 season.
