Where Will Matt Zollers Commit? Penn State or Georgia Bulldogs

One of the nation's top signal callers, QB Matt Zollers is set to come off the board on Thursday. Here's our final thoughts on where he will commit.

The University of Georgia had 27 commits in the class of 2024 by the time the end of July rolled around last year. It made things a bit anticlimactic during the football season for recruiting purposes, though it was quite a relief one would imagine to the recruiting department at Georgia to have their work done early.

However, the 2025 recruiting class is shaping up a bit differently. It's April 1st, with eight months to go until signing day, Georgia has just FIVE commits in the 2025 class. However, with major commitment announcements on the horizon, the Dawgs could be in store for a bit of a run on recruiting.

QB, Matt Zollers is currently a four-star recruit, according to the 247sports composite rankings and he's set to come off the board on April 4th. Announcing his commitment between Penn State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, and the Georgia Bulldogs, where will Matt Zollers commit?

Where Will Matt Zollers Commit?

Penn State
The Nittany Lions were perhaps the first major Power-5 football team to push all chips in on Zollers. The Philadelpha, PA native received his offer from Penn State back in November of 2023 and has been in Happy Valley multiple times over the last several months including a recent visit on March 29th. James Franklin and Co. have done a tremendous job in this recruitment and have been the constant since November in this. Penn State has offered 20 QBs in 2025, though 13 of those are committed elsewhere at the moment. They are in tremendous need of Zollers and their recruiting approach has resembled that it seems.

Georgia
Georgia is in a "First world problems" situation at quarterback in 2025 it seems. Julian Lewis, Matt Zollers, and Ryan Montgomery represent three of the top 15 QBs in the 2025 class. They also represent Georgia's quarterback board in the class. They have tremendous options at the position and Zollers is the first of the three to come off the board with his commitment on Thursday. Georgia seems to be in the driver's seat for Zollers at the moment and they will get the last crack at him as he's set to visit one final time the day before his commitment decision.

Missouri
The Missouri Tigers found their way into the mix with a tremendous visit back on March 20th. Sources have indicated that the NIL play from Missouri is significantly larger than the rest of the competitors vying for Zollers' services. Additionally, Zollers has been on record with admiration for the Tigers' offensive system under Eli Drinkwitz.
