Kansas vs. Iowa State Live Blog: First Half

Slow Scoring Start for Both Teams

Flory Bidunga gets the scoring going with an alley-oop dunk assisted by Melvin Council Jr. Darryn Peterson also gets on the board with a smooth mid-range jumper.

Kansas leads 4-2 after the first timeout.

Offenses Struggle Early On

Both teams have looked pretty awful on the offensive end thus far. Kansas is shooting 3-for-8 and has turned the ball over four times. Iowa State only had two points through the first seven or so minutes but picked up back-to-back buckets to tie the game at six apiece.

Melvin Council Jr. Getting HOT!

Kansas' point guard is getting hot at the right time. He is up to nine points, all of which have come on 3-point attempts. The "dawg" has guided the Jayhawks to a 20-16 lead.

Kansas Unravels Toward the End of Half

What was once a four-point lead for Kansas has turned into a disaster. The Jayhawks allowed a 20-2 run by the Cyclones and completely unraveled toward the end of the half. ISU leads 37-27 going into the break, which doesn't feel like a whole lot considering how poorly the Jayhawks have played. Bill Self's group has 10 turnovers in 20 minutes.

Second Half

Iowa State’s Offensive Onslaught Continues

The Cyclones are playing suffocating defense and just can't seem to miss right now. They have hit eight 3-pointers, and Milan Momcilovic's absurd corner trey he just hit just about sums up how today's game has gone. 52-32, Cyclones lead at the first TV timeout.

Game Quickly Slipping Away From KU

Kansas has been exchanging baskets with ISU, but that won't be enough to overcome this massive deficit. Cyclones lead 64-42 with a little under 10 minutes to go, and it's pretty obvious what the final outcome is going to be.
