Game Primer: Kansas Jayhawks Football at Cincinnati Bearcats

Everything you need to know before today's regular season finale for the Jayhawks against the Bearcats.

The Kansas Jayhawks are on a two-game losing streak, but it is not fair to say that they are reeling. Two close losses while playing their third-string quarterback is not anything to be too upset with, even while acknowledging that the Jayhawks should have won at least one of those games. Instead, they will have to settle for a regular season finale win over the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Kansas dropped out of the polls after the loss to Texas Tech, but they are still receiving votes even after their loss to Kansas State last week. Cincinnati has not been ranked all season.

The all-time series is tied at one win apiece, with each team winning at home. The last meeting between these two teams came 26 years ago in Cincinnati, a game that Kansas lost 34-7.

Fun Facts

A win today will give Kansas their first winning season in conference since the 2007 team that went 7-1 on their way to the Orange Bowl. Kansas finished at 4-4 in conference in the 2008 season.

A win would also give them just their third 8-win or better season since the Big 12 was formed.

Devin Neal's 138-yard rushing performance against Kansas State pushed him past 1000 yards for the season. He is just the third player in Kansas history to rush for more than 1000 yards in back-to-back seasons.
