The Missouri softball team is on quite a run of late as the Tigers elevated their rank to No. 11 in both USA Softball/ESPN.com and NFCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Polls on Tuesday.

This past week, the Tigers dominated Fordham 20-0 in a run-ruling five innings run-ruling victory over Fordham that ended in five innings, and on that same March 26 day, the they later defeated Hofstra 2-1 in a nine-inning defensive battle. Mizzou went on to run-rule George Mason 11-2 in six innings this past Thursday and ended Villanova's 10-game win streak with a 7-0 shutout victory on the road.

This was an all-around team effort, but not only did outfielder Mya Dodge and pitcher Marissa McCann stand out among Mizzou, but the rest of the SEC as well after being named the conference Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week respectively.

Dodge, the Player of the Week recipient, hit .583 with seven hits, five runs scored and 11 RBIs. She opened the week going 3-for-3 with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs scored against Fordham. At George Mason, Dodge again went 3-for-3 and tied a career-best three doubles to become the first Tiger since 2019 to record three doubles in a single game.

McCann, the Freshman of the Week recipient, tallied two wins and allowed just one run on three hits over 8.0 innings and threw eight strikeouts over that span. Against Hofstra, she recorded a career-high five strikeouts in five innings of work and allowed one run on one hit and a walk. On the road against Villanova, McCann struck out three batters in three innings, which gave her the win.

Dodge, McCann and the rest of the Tigers are aiming to continue the win streak when they host Southeast Missouri on April 3. Following that matchup, Mizzou will face now-No. 19 Arkansas in a three-game series in Fayetteville, Ark.
