Notre Dame Ranks 12th In Lindy's Sports Preseason Picks

Lindy's Sports has released its preseason College Football magazine and Notre Dame is ranked 12th in its Top 25 list. Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman will look to build on last season's 9-4 record and final ranking of 18th.

Notre Dame landed transfer quarterback Sam Hartman is a key reason why Lindy's has the Irish ranked where they are. Lindy's projects Hartman as the team's most valuable player.

"Begins his sixth and final college season ranked among top 20 all-time in passing yardage and touchdown passes. He threw for more than 300 yards per game through his final two seasons at Wake Forest. His passing, maturity and leadership are a perfect fit at Notre Dame." - Lindy's

Hartman isn't the only reason for the optimism for Notre Dame. Lindy's has high praise for the Notre Dame offensive line and run game, which will feature Audric Estime more this season. Junior tackles Joe Alt and Blake Fisher were ranked as Top 5 offensive tackles for the 2024 NFL Draft according to Lindy's.

The three biggest questions for Notre Dame, according to Lindy's, is the tempo the Irish play with on offense, whether or not they can reload on the defensive line after losing Isaiah Foskey, and is there a standout at wide receiver.

Three Notre Dame opponents ranked ahead of the Irish in the Lindy's rankings. Ohio State topped the list at No. 3 in the rankings. USC ranked No. 10 and Clemson ranked No. 11.
