Notre Dame 2024 Wide Receiver Target Micah Gilbert Sets Commitment Date

Notre Dame is aiming to land another stellar wide receiver class in 2024 after landing a fantastic four-man class of Jaden Greathouse, Braylon James, Rico Flores Jr. and Kaleb Smith in 2023. With star Illinois pass catcher Cam Williams already in the class, Chansi Stuckey and company have gotten off to a tremendous start.

The Irish staff hopes to continue those fortunes with Charlotte (N.C.) Christian pass catcher Micah Gilbert, who announced that he has set his commitment date for Tuesday, May 2nd at 4 PM eastern time.

Gilbert has racked up 79 catches for 1,020 yards and 10 touchdowns the last two seasons. He's a physical wideout with good route running skills and enough speed to give teams problems. Gilbert has the tools to thrive as a boundary receiver in the Irish offense.

The Charlotte Christian standout is ranked as the nation's No. 199 overall player and No. 30 wide receiver according to 247Sports. He has already earned offers from Notre Dame and his other six finalists, as well as Tennessee, Penn State, Louisville, Missouri, Maryland, Cincinnati, Virginia, Wake Forest, West Virginia, BYU and Georgia Tech.

The 6-2, 200-pound athlete is fresh off of his first visit to Notre Dame this past weekend for the Blue-Gold Game. With the Notre Dame staff knocking that visit out of the park, they have put themselves in fantastic going down the stretch.

With the recent transfer of Lorenzo Styles from the Irish team, Notre Dame will now look to push for four wide receivers in the 2024 class. Gilbert is a player that the program has always been high on and looks to close over the next couple of weeks before his decision.
