Notre Dame Commits Set For Week Three Action

Leonard Moore and his Round Rock squad got things kicked off for Notre Dame recruits on Thursday. Over the next couple of days, the future of the Irish program will be on full display for all of high school football to see.

Here is every game you need to know about. That includes the matchup, synopsis and how to watch each of the future Notre Dame players in action.

QB CJ CARR, SALINE (Mich.) HIGH SCHOOL

Matchup: Saline (2-0) vs Pioneer (1-1) (Saline, Mich.)

Game Time: Friday (9/8) at 7:00 PM ET

Saline fell to Dexter last season by a score of 21-14. Led by Carr, the Hornets were able to avenge that loss last Friday night. They defeated Dexter 41-25 in decisive fashion. Carr passed for 317 yards and accounted for four touchdowns in the win. The Notre Dame commit threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more.

They will now host Pioneer (1-1) on Friday night.

RB KEDREN YOUNG, LUFKIN (Texas) HIGH SCHOOL

Matchup: Lufkin (2-0) vs A&M Consolidated (2-0) (Lufkin, Texas)

Game Time: Friday (9/8) at 7:30 PM ET

Young scored two touchdowns during the team’s 47-28 victory last Friday night over Nacogdoches. Young finished with 134 rushing yards and 51 receiving yards in the win. The senior runner was utilized as a runner and receiver during the day. He is off to a fast start through two games, which he hopes will continue on Friday night against A&M Consolidated (2-0).

RB ANEYAS WILLIAMS, HANNIBAL (Mo.) HIGH SCHOOL

Matchup: Hannibal (1-1) vs Troy-Buchanan (1-1) (Hannibal, Mo.)

Game Time: Friday (9/8) at 7:00 PM ET

During Hannibal’s 42-21 victory over Jefferson City, Williams made plays on both sides of the football. On offense, he scored four touchdowns. On defense, Williams also hauled in an interception.

Hannibal will now welcome Troy-Buchanan (1-1) to town on Friday with hopes to continue their winning streak.

RB JUSTIN THURMAN (2025), TAMPA BAY (Fla.) JESUIT

Matchup: Jesuit (1-1) vs Columbus (2-0) (Tampa Bay, Fla.)

It was a game to forget for Jesuit last Friday, who fell to Treasure Coast by a dominant 67-28 margin. Thurman finished the day with 48 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. The team will look to rebound on Friday against Columbus (2-0).

WR CAM WILLIAMS, GLEN ELLYN (Ill.) GLENBARD SOUTH

Matchup: Glenbard South (2-0) at Larkin (1-1) (Elgin, Ill.)

Fenton stood no chance against the talented Glenbard South squad, falling 56-0 last Friday. Williams was once again a main catalyst, creating some big plays for the offense. That includes as a runner, where he took a jet sweep for a 68 yard score.

Williams will be once again counted on to make a ton of plays on Friday when his team takes on Larkin (1-1).

WR MICAH GILBERT, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CHRISTIAN

Matchup: Charlotte Christian (3-0) at Calvary Day (2-0) (Savannah, Ga.)

Gilbert was an absolute star this past week. He paced the squad with 173 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 10 receptions. Charlotte Christian also played him as a safety on defense, ending the day with seven total tackles and a fumble recovery.

He will once again need to be a main catalyst when the team travels to take on Calvary Baptist (2-0) on Friday.

WR LOGAN SALDATE, SALINAS (Calif.) PALMA

Matchup: Palma (2-0) vs Yuma Catholic (2-0) (Salinas, Calif.)

It was another productive night last week for Saldate, who wasn’t needed much in the second half of the team’s 42-0 victory over King City on Friday. The senior pass catcher ended the day with six receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown. Saldate celebrated with his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend.

On Friday, Palma looks to continue their winning streak against Yuma Catholic (2-0).

TE JACK LARSEN, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CATHOLIC

Matchup: Charlotte Catholic (2-1) vs South Mecklenburg (1-1) (South Carolina, N.C.)

Last Saturday, Larsen and Charlotte Catholic were on ESPN during their matchup against Providence Day, two of the top programs in the state of North Carolina. Unfortunately Charlotte Catholic was no match, falling 42-7 during that contest. So far on the season, Larsen has hauled in four touchdowns in three games.

The talented Charlotte Catholic squad looks to get back on track against South Mecklenburg (1-1) on Friday.

OT ANTHONIE KNAPP, ROSWELL (Ga.) HIGH SCHOOL

Matchup: Roswell (3-0) vs Milton (1-1) (Roswell, Ga.)

It was another strong performance for the Roswell offense during the team’s 51-14 victory over Marietta last Friday. They exploded for 375 yards and seven touchdowns. The Hornets are led by Knapp, who is off to a great start as a senior. They hope to continue that momentum against Milton (1-1) this week.

OT STYLES PRESCOD, FISHERS (Ind.) HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN

Matchup: Hamilton Southeastern (3-0) at Fishers (3-0) (Fishers, Ind.)

Hamilton Southeastern continued their winning ways last Friday, defeating Avon 42-23. The powerful offense is led by Prescod, who is having a tremendous senior season so far. The in-state native is a massive human being who will be counted on in a massive matchup against cross town rival Fishers (3-0).

OL PETER JONES, MALVERN (Pa.) PREP

Matchup: Malvern Prep (1-0) vs Delbarton (1-0) (Fishers, Ind.)

In a low scoring and hard fought battle, Malvern Prep defeated LaSalle College 13-7 last Saturday. The Friars are led by Jones, who is one of the more physical blockers in the 2024 recruiting class. He is often forgotten by Notre Dame fans but Jones is a tremendous prospect for the next level. Malvern Prep will face off against Delbarton (1-0) on Saturday.

DE BRYCE YOUNG, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CHRISTIAN

Matchup: Charlotte Christian (3-0) at Calvary Day (2-0) (Savannah, Ga.)

Charlotte Christian continued their winning ways this past Friday, defeating South Point 41-36 to move to 3-0 on the season. Young is putting together a dominant senior campaign so far. There is a good chance he could be a top 50 national prospect in 2024 if he continues his momentum. Young finished the game with 9 tackles, 2 sacks and a fumble recovery.

On Friday, they will travel down to Georgia to take on an extremely talented Calvary Day (2-0) squad.

DE LOGHAN THOMAS, LAKEWOOD (Ohio) ST. EDWARD

Matchup: St. Edward (3-0) at Elder (2-1) (Elder, Ohio)

St. Edward has looked like a dominant force so far this season. That continued this past Saturday with their 42-14 victory over Rock Creek Christian. Thomas has been a stud for far for the Eagles, who are eying three straight state championships this fall. They will travel to take on Elder (2-1) this Saturday in a big matchup.

DT SEAN SEVILLANO JR., CLEARWATER (Fla.) ACADEMY INTERNATIONAL

Matchup: Clearwater American International (0-3) at Benjamin (1-0) (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.)

For the third straight week, Sevillano and his team suffered a narrow loss, losing 15-14 to Edgewater last Friday. Sevillano certainly put his best effort forward, collecting seven tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack during the contest. He has been an absolute menace to start the season. They hope to finally get in the win column against Benjamin (1-0).

DT DAVION DIXON (2025), MIAMI (Fla.) PALMETTO

Matchup: Miami Palmetto (2-0) vs Killian (0-2) (Miami, Fla.)

Miami Palmetto moved to 2-0 on the season after their 26-12 victory over Lakeland last Friday. Dixon is the man in the middle of a very salty defense for the team. They will now turn their sights to Killian (0-2) on Friday night.

LB KYNGSTONN VILIAMU-ASA, BELLFLOWER (Calif.) ST. JOHN BOSCO

Matchup: St. John Bosco (3-0) vs St. Frances Academy (0-3) (Bellflower, Calif.)

Game Time: Friday (9/8) at 8 PM ET

St. John Bosco extended their winning streak last Saturday, defeating Friendship Collegiate Academy by a score of 48-12. Viliamu-Asa continues to be the leader of arguably the most talented defense in all of high school football, recording a pick six during this recent victory to go with three total tackles. They looked poised to defend their national championship.

Their new challenge will be on Friday when a battle tested St. Frances Academy (0-3) comes to town. There are several St. Frances defender's that Notre Dame has their eyes on in the 2025 recruiting class.

LB BODIE KAHOUN, ROANOKE (Va.) PATRICK HENRY

Matchup: Patrick Henry (2-0) vs Albemarle (0-2) (Roanoke, Va.)

Patrick Henry extended their record to 2-0 on the season following their 31-21 victory over Glass last Friday. The defense is led by Kahoun, who had another impressive day after collecting 17 tackles in the first week. He followed that up with 15 total tackles in week two.

The star linebacker is set to take on Albermarle (0-2) at home on Friday night.

LB TEDDY REZAC, OMAHA (Neb.) WESTSIDE

Matchup: Archbishop Moeller (2-0) at Bellevue West (2-1) (Bellevue, Neb.)

It was another dominant performance from the Westside Warriors last Friday, defeating Grant Island 45-0. Once again, Rezac was not needed much in the second half. He finished the day with four total tackles and two pass breakups from his safety position.

The defending state champion Westside squad will travel to Bellevue West (2-1) on Friday night. This will be their toughest matchup so far this season.

CB KARSON HOBBS, CINCINNATI (Ohio) ARCHBISHOP MOELLER

Matchup: Archbishop Moeller (1-2) at Center Grove (2-1) (Greenwood, Ind.)

The early season schedule for Archbishop Moeller has been brutal. They fell by a score of 38-28 to East Central last Friday. Hobbs finished the day with seven total tackles and wasn’t challenged in the passing game. Offenses have avoided Hobbs mostly so far this season.

On Friday night, they will travel to take on defending Indiana state champion Center Grove. They are led by Duke quarterback commit Tyler Cherry.

S TAEBRON BENNIE-POWELL, WEST CHESTER (Ohio) LAKOTA WEST

Matchup: Lakota West (1-2) vs Middletown (2-1) (West Chester, Ohio)

After two losses to start the season, Lakota West dominated last Friday to finish with a 33-0 victory over Fairfield. Bennie-Powell and the talented defense have been stellar to start the season. They have only allowed 28 points through three games thus far.

On Friday, they will host Middletown (2-1) at home.

S BRAUNTAE JOHNSON, FORT WAYNE (Ind.) NORTH SIDE

Matchup: North Side (0-3) at Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran (0-3) (Fort Wayne, Ind.)

Johnson is back for his North Side squad. Look for the senior to make an impact as a safety, wide receiver and in the return game on Friday night. The team is hoping to finally get into the win column after three straight losses to start the 2023 season.
