Notre Dame Recruiting Roundup - December 11th

In this story:
The Notre Dame football action is on a brief hiatus for now, beginning to prepare for their Sun Bowl battle against Oregon State on December 29th. So that means news should be slow, right? Right? Fortunately for Irish fans, there is always something to talk about.
Recruiting never sleeps, especially being less than two weeks away from National Signing Day. The 2025 recruiting class is also busy finishing up seasons and continuing to build relationships with the Notre Dame staff. Add in the transfer portal chaos, and you have a lot to get caught up on.
Here is the latest on the recruiting side, including some transfer news. It is going to be a very busy offseason.
LATEST IN RECRUITING
High school recruiting will always be king for Notre Dame. We are a little under two weeks from National Signing Day, and a stellar 2024 class ready to make things official.
One player ready to sign on the dotted line is cornerback Karson Hobbs. He has just finished up a tremendous senior campaign. There were a lot of doubters when he flipped his commitment from South Carolina, and those people are very quiet now.
Speaking of great senior years, California pass catcher Logan Saldate capped off an elite one of his own on Saturday. Palma faced off against Mission Oak in their first-ever state championship appearance. The result was incredible, a 42-19 victory. The Chieftains became the first school from the county to win a state championship as well.
There isn’t a better overall player in the 2024 class for Notre Dame than Illinois wide receiver Cam Williams. On Friday, Marcus Freeman and Chad Bowden visited Williams at home for their in-home before signing day.
When you fast forward to the 2025 recruiting class, Notre Dame has every intention to get longer and more athletic on defense. That includes North Carolina safety JaDon Blair, who continues to be very high on the Irish.
TRANSFER PORTAL CHAOS
Notre Dame has already received three commitments through the transfer portal, including wide receivers Kris Mitchell (FIU), Beaux Collins (Clemson) and defensive back Jordan Clark. When it comes to Clark, who was the first transfer commitment, he brings some impressive qualities to the nickelback position. His versatility and tenacity really shine through.
The Irish staff is still planning to be very active in the portal moving forward. Their biggest remaining priority on the board is former Duke quarterback Riley Leonard. He was on campus in South Bend on Wednesday and Thursday of this past week. Following the visit, Leonard updated a little on his recruitment and trip to the campus.
