Notre Dame finished up their regular season this weekend, beating Stanford 56-23 on the road. Around that performance, it was also another hectic week for Notre Dame recruiting.

From the latest recruiting news, interviews and recent updates, here is everything you may have missed. Even with the season slowly coming to a close, recruiting season never stops.

LATEST RECRUITING NEWS

As is always the case, it was a busy week in Notre Dame recruiting. Here is the recent news you may have missed.

Notre Dame received big news last Monday when star 2025 Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy College Prep cornerback Cree Thomas opted for the Irish over offers from Oregon, Wisconsin and Arizona among others. Thomas gave Irish Breakdown some insight into why he picked the Irish, including his relationship with the staff and everything they bring to the table.

This was the second time in four recruiting classes that Notre Dame landed a star defensive back from Brophy Prep, the last being current Irish star Benjamin Morrison. Both defenders were coached by Jason Jewell at Brophy. He gave insight into the similarities and differences between them both.

The recruiting rankings aren’t going to pop out when you look at Thomas. The film, however, brings a tremendous amount of upside to the table. Whether as a cornerback or safety long term, there’s a whole lot to like about the Arizona native. I went to the film to break it down.

With the high school football season coming to a close, there are several Irish commits in the 2024 and 2025 classes still alive with championship aspirations. On Tuesday, 2024 linebacker commit Teddy Rezac played for a championship and won it for the third time in his career.

On Friday, seven more Notre Dame commits were in action. It was a mixed result but there were several big time performances mixed in. The future of the Irish program is bright regardless.

RECRUITING UPDATES

Here is everything else you may have missed in the recruiting world. The recent updates include film evaluations, a deep dive into the cornerback Class and a couple of interviews.

When you talk about the 2024 recruiting class, there may not be a commit with higher expectations than wide receiver Cam Williams. He joined the Irish Breakdown Podcast and talked about his early goals when he enrolls in January.

With Thomas committed to Notre Dame this week, that continued the great impact that Mike Mickens is having on the recruiting trail. The 2025 cornerback class has the chance to be the best under Coach Mickens. I broke down what the board currently looks like.

Safety recruiting is also in a great place in 2025. That position has been a mixed bag over recent years but is in good shape with guys like Elite Florida star Ivan Taylor. In a recent interview, Taylor updated his recruitment and relationship with the Irish.

As if Notre Dame weren’t excited enough over 2025 quarterback Deuce Knight being a part of the program moving forward, his junior film came out this past week. I broke down what the elite signal caller put on film. It’s impossible not to get excited for the future.

NOTRE DAME vs STANFORD

On Saturday, Notre Dame rode a slow start and eventually dominated Stanford 56-23. Leading up to the game, I broke down a couple key matchups to watch for the Irish offense and defense.

I also looked at the recruiting background of both rosters to gauge where each team was from a talent perspective. That helped to gain in depth understanding for where each roster is, and where the holes are for both Notre Dame and Stanford.
