Ole Miss Women's Basketball Loses Prized Guard to Transfer Portal Amid Roster Rebuild

In this story:
Ole Miss Rebels guard Tianna Thompson intends to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason after spending one season in Oxford, according to On3 Sports.
Thompson began her playing career with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets across the 2024-25 season prior to making the move to join Yolett McPhee-McCuin and Co. last offseason.
The 5-foot-10 guard took on a small role with the Ole Miss program for the 2025-26 season where she averaged four points per game for the Rebels.
Thompson, a former Top-100 prospect in America, navigated a true freshman campaign prior to Oe Miss where she put together averages of 4.0 points and 1.0 rebounds on 53.9 percent shooting.
Now, she's set to test the Transfer Portal once again with Thompson set to find her third school in as many years.

McPhee-McCuin continues eyeing another star-studded roster with the Rebels unable to reach the Sweet 16 this season after a strong season last year.
"The next step for us is to be able to do the same in the portal, because freshmen ain't doing it, I'm just telling you. So we have to be able to have the support to be able to go and get what we need so that we can move forward," McPhee-McCuin said during last year's NCAA Tournament.
"But at minimum I think we should be a Sweet 16 team. Anybody that's looking at us that has interest, that is what they expect, from the conversations we've been having.
"But that's just not enough for me. I'm not one of those coaches that, I'm not going to sit here and say, Oh, you know, it's all about the kids, it's all about the kids. Yeah, but I have dreams, too, and I want to be a Final Four coach."
Ole Miss will lose star Cotie McMahon to the WNBA Draft this offseason after exhausting her final season of eligibility this past season.
Now, all eyes are on replacing her production and inking another coveted portal haul in Oxford.
