LIVE Updates: South Carolina vs. Davidson
The Charleston Classic didn't open how South Carolina hoped it would. Colorado State, a solid program with tournament experience, outclassed the Gamecocks in every respect.
Head coach Lamont Paris insisted it was a learning experience for a new roster learning to gel with each other. It will take time to iron out inconsistencies, and these players must learn to play with one another.
It was a rough shooting night, underscoring an apparent issue with the roster. Their offensive arsenal is limited unless the wings are shooting at an extremely high level off the catch.
They don't have many consistent shot creators, an obvious problem that may persist throughout the season. The best teams manage to create when things are going awry, and South Carolina hasn't done that yet.
Davidson provides them an opportunity to shake Thursday's events from their mind. They only have one loss to their name and could correct some things in hopes of competing late into the Charleston Classic.

(37-36), 14:36 - Davidson’s Foster Loyer makes a three to put the Wildcats back out in front.
