Malcolm Ziglar Names Top Eight Schools

2024 Safety Malcolm Ziglar included South Carolina's Football program in his Top 8 he released late last week.

News continues to roll for the Gamecocks as the Summer starts to kick into the swing of things. Once again, South Carolina is on a top recruit's shortened recruiting list. 2024 Safety Malcolm Ziglar, who has been a Gamecock target for quite some time, included South Carolina in his Top 8 back on June 2nd.

The four-star safety has been touted for his incredible speed and athleticism. The track-runner has been timed at a reported 4.38 second 40-yard dash time, which is an excellent mark for any football player, especially a defensive back. His speed and awareness make him a consistent ball-hawk threat, consistently haunting opposing quarterbacks in the greater Raleigh area.

The Gamecocks originally started their recruitment of Ziglar this year, with the team giving him an offer in early February. The two sides have built a solid relationship, making South Carolina one of the leaders for Ziglar.

Ziglar will be taking a trip to Columbia this weekend for an official visit with the Gamecocks. With his visit coming shortly after this announcement, there is hope that South Carolina can continue its momentum in landing the 2024 defensive back.

South Carolina is competing with Clemson, Notre Dame, Kentucky, North Carolina, Penn State, Eastern Carolina, and Appalachian State for Ziglar. Though some industry experts believe believe that UNC is the leader for the young safety, South Carolina isn't far behind the Tarheels and has plenty of time to overcome any schools in its way.
