UCLA Basketball: Bruins Top Latest NCAA Transfer Portal Rankings

UCLA men's basketball head coach Mick Cronin has shored up his depth plenty already, prior to the Bruins' Big Ten debut (considering that there will be a whopping 18 teams in the so-called "Big Ten" next season, perhaps it's time for a moniker update?).

The Bruins have done so much to improve their roster via the NCAA transfer portal so far, in fact, that 247Sports currently considers them the No. 1 overall team in transfer-acquired assets this offseason.

Granted, it's early yet, and UCLA has only added three players via the portal, but all have significant upside and could become starters for the Bruins in 2024-25.

Last year, the Blue and Gold finished with a sub-.500 record for the first time in Cronin's five-year UCLA tenure (16-17) and missed the NCAA Tournament entirely. The team is no doubt hoping the additions of Pac-12 All-Defensive junior small forward Kobe Johnson (formerly of USC), ex-Louisville sophomore guard Skyy Clark and former Oklahoma State freshman power forward Eric Dailey will help the team vastly improve on its performance from last season.

All three are considered four-star transfer prospects by 247Sports' system. Next up behind UCLA are two of its future Big Ten brethren, the University of Illinois (four commits, including three four-star prospects) and Indiana University (two commits, a five- and a four-star transfer prospect).
