The Bruins are going after a top defensive prospect with strong ties to Westwood.

UCLA football has extended an offer to class of 2025 linebacker Madden Faraimo, the JSerra Catholic (CA) product announced Friday on Twitter. Faraimo came to UCLA for an unofficial visit during the week, which is the first he has documented on social media.

Faraimo also has offers from San Diego State, Oregon State, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Cal, Penn State, Michigan State, Utah, Oregon, Nebraska, Stanford, Tennessee and Notre Dame.

Faraimo's sister – UCLA softball pitcher Megan Faraimo – stopped by the Wasserman Football Center on his visit. The elder Faraimo has been with the Bruins since their 2019 Women's College World Series campaign, and she was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year in 2022.

As for Madden Faraimo, he recorded 33 tackles in five appearances as a sophomore at Cathedral Catholic (CA) last fall. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Faraimo finished the year with two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one pass deflection en route to All-CIF honors.

Faraimo is pegged as a four-star prospect by 247Sports, Rivals and On3, but he is a five-star in the 247Sports Composite. In the 247Sports Composite, Faraimo is ranked as the No. 4 player in California, the No. 2 linebacker in the country and the No. 24 overall prospect in his class.

UCLA has now offered four players in the class of 2025, all of whom are in-state products and three of whom are linebackers. Faraimo is the highest-rated of the three, but they are all top-eight at their position in the country.

Inside linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr. reeled in four of the Bruins' 13 commitments in the class of 2023, and he has now offered the top-three linebackers in California for the class of 2025.

According to 247Sports, only 10 class of 2025 prospects have made verbal commitments, and none have them have made pledges to the Bruins thus far.

Pac-12 foes Colorado and Cal each have one commitment, but UCLA will be in the Big Ten by the time those players hit campus. Michigan has two commitments under its belt, while Penn State has one.
