It took a full month before a national audience was able to watch the Bruins last year.

That won't be the case in 2023.

UCLA football announced kickoff times and broadcast partners for its first three games of the upcoming season on Wednesday. While full details on the Bruins' conference schedule will be released throughout the season, their nonconference slate is now fully squared away.

On Sept. 2, UCLA will host Coastal Carolina at 7:30 p.m. PT. That game will air on ESPN.

The Bruins will then travel to San Diego State on Sept. 9 for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS. The blue and gold will wrap up nonconference play on Sept. 16, facing FCS program North Carolina Central at 2 p.m. at the Rose Bowl on Pac-12 Networks.

Over the past two seasons, UCLA is 17-8. The Bruins are 6-1 in that time when playing on Pac-12 Networks, compared to 4-2 when playing on the ESPN family of networks and 0-1 when playing on CBS. Meanwhile, UCLA owns a 5-3 record on FOX and a 2-1 record on FS1 since 2021.

Through coach Chip Kelly's first three seasons, UCLA did not win a nonconference game. The Bruins then went 2-1 to open the 2021 season – with the lone out-of-conference loss coming on a last-second touchdown drive by Fresno State – and 3-0 to kick off 2022.

UCLA has never played Coastal Carolina or NC Central, but it is 21-1-1 all-time against San Diego State. Even though the Aztecs beat the Bruins the last time they met in 2019, UCLA has won the last seven times it has been on San Diego State's home turf.

Last season marked the first time UCLA ever faced an FCS program, and they are now set to take on an HBCU for the second year in a row. But whereas last season's opponent, Alabama State, went 6-5 with a 4-4 record in the SWAC, NC Central is coming off a 10-2 campaign that ended in a victory over Deion Sanders' Jackson State squad in the Cricket Celebration Bowl, giving them the HBCU national championship.
