In this story:

Through three weeks of the new college football season, the Pac-12 Conference has looked entirely different than in the past. They look like one of the more dominant conferences in the sport, which is ironic because it is the last year of all the teams being within as conference realignment begins next season.

For the UCLA Bruins, they have looked good through their three games, winning all of them. They have done well on both sides of the ball, making them a complete team so far. But despite all of their success, they still find themselves ranked in the lower half of the Pac-12 rankings.

They come in ranked in the seventh spot of the latest conference rankings from 247Sports.com. USC, Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, and Washington State are all ranked ahead of the Bruins, despite similar records.

“UCLA’s offense received a spark when five-star freshman Dante Moore took over the quarterbacking duties in Week 2. The Bruins improved on a weekly basis through non-conference play, which was a much-needed development after their uninspiring season-opening performance against Coastal Carolina”

Per Carter Bahns of 247sports.com

Despite being ranked in the lower half, the Bruins have a great chance this weekend to change things. They will be taking on Utah from Salt Lake City, and a win there would go a long way for this team.

“Led by veterans Darius Muasau and Laiatu Latu, who have a combined six sacks, Chip Kelly boasts perhaps his best defense at UCLA to date, and it needs to step up as the Bruins face three-straight ranked opponents to open Pac-12 action.”

Per Carter Bahns of 247sports.com

The Bruins would start to be looked at in a different light because Utah is one of the best teams in the country. UCLA hasn’t won in Salt Lake City since 2015, so history isn’t on their side for this matchup.

But that doesn’t matter to this UCLA team. They want to set their own legacy, and it starts this weekend with the chance to prove themselves as a real threat in the conference.
