A young local guard has seemingly caught the Bruins' attention.

UCLA men's basketball offered class of 2023 guard Dusty Stromer a scholarship, Stromer announced on his Instagram story on Monday. The rising junior at Notre Dame (CA) in Sherman Oaks has had a strong summer by most accounts, and Bruin Report Online reported the Bruins' coaching staff has been keeping a close eye on him for a lot of the offseason.

Stromer averaged 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game as a freshman before COVID-19 shut down the rest of his team's season. He is sitting on offers from California, USC, Louisville, TCU, UNLV, Texas A&M and several other schools at both the Power Five and Group of Five levels.

Now measuring in at 6-foot-6 and 180 pounds, Stromer has grown an inch and put on nearly 15 pounds since his freshman season.

Stromer is not currently ranked by 247Sports, ESPN or Rivals, but that is expected to change in the coming months before next high school season gets underway. He is seen as a speedy guard with good burst, in addition to a good shooting stroke and solid defensive instincts.

The Bruins have now offered 10 scholarships to class of 2023 prospects, two going out to guards in the past week. West Linn (OR) point guard Jackson Shelstad, earned himself a UCLA offer on Thursday.
