UCLA Basketball: Bruins Land 4-Star Big 12 Forward Via Transfer Portal

UCLA men's basketball has landed another key player through the transfer portal. Former Oklahoma State forward Eric Dailey Jr. announced Tuesday that he will be transferring to UCLA.

In his post announcing his transfer, Dailey thanked Oklahoma State before explaining his decision to transfer from the Cowboys.

“Due to recent changes to the program, I believed it would be best to explore other options to continue pursuing my dream of playing in the NBA. Thank you to everyone who has supported me this far. That said, I would like to announce my commitment to Coach Cronin and UCLA. I’m excited to see what is to come and to be a Bruin," Dailey Jr. said.

Oklahoma State saw a significant change after the 2023-2024 season, when the team fired head coach Mike Boynton Jr. after the Cowboys finished the year with a 12-20 overall record. They hired Steve Lutz to replace Boynton.

Dailey joins the Bruins after spending one season at Oklahoma State. During his freshman season, Dailey averaged 9.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 49.6% from the field. He averaged just 22.3 minutes per game, so these stats could rise with more playing time as he gains experience. The 6-foot-8 forward is a former four-star recruit out of Florida.

Dailey is another significant transfer addition for the Bruins, who also added former USC Trojan Kobe Johnson and former Lousiville Cardinal Skyy Clark.
