UCLA Basketball: Mick Cronin Hypes Up Bruins' 3 New Transfer Additions

UCLA men's basketball has now added three new players through the transfer portal. Their latest addition was Eric Dailey Jr., who announced his commitment to the Bruins on Tuesday after transferring from Oklahoma State. Dailey will join his two fellow portal additions, Louisville transfer Skyy Clark and USC transfer Kobe Johnson.

Bruins head coach Mick Cronin spoke out regarding his excitement for UCLA to bring on these three players. He also broke down what he thinks each of the three transfers will bring to the team.

"We are excited to be adding Skyy, Eric and Kobe to our program," Cronin said, via UCLA Communications. "We are familiar with all three of these young men, and they are going to be important players for our team. Our staff had recruited Skyy when he was in high school, and we know he's a dynamic guard who can score and distribute the ball. Eric is a big guard, built in the Jaime Jaquez jr. mold. He can rebound like a big, but he is a young man with guard skills in a big, strong body. Kobe has made really strong strides in each of his three years in college, showing that he can be an impact player. He is a smart and tenacious athlete, especially on the defensive end, but he also provides versatility as a scorer and distributor. We will lean on the experience of all three players, and we are looking forward to getting them on campus."

These players will come in to help UCLA rebound after going just 16-17 in the 2023-2024 season and missing the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins' starting five shifted to younger talent after the departures of Jaime Jaquez, Tyger Campbell and Jaylen Clark. Cronin and co. are now bringing in these three to boost the roster even further. With the departure of Adem Bona for the 2024 NBA draft, Clark, Johnson and Dailey should have ample opportunities to contribute to the Bruins next season.
