College football rankings: Predicting the AP top 25 poll for Week 12

25. Liberty. Now 10-0 and first in Conference USA after taking down Old Dominion thanks to the nation's No. 2 ranked rushing offense and the Flames will take on New Mexico State for the league title.

24. North Carolina. Omarion Hampton ran for over 100 yards but a blitz on fourth down with 46 seconds left let Duke score and force the overtime, in which the Tar Heels prevailed by thwarting the Blue Devils' 2-point try.

23. Kansas State. Will Howard set a school record with 45 career touchdown passes as the Wildcats routed Baylor to stay undefeated at home and 5-2 in Big 12 play.

22. Arizona. The Wildcats dropped Colorado on a last-second field goal to secure their best record (7-3) since the 2017 season.

21. Notre Dame. Idle

20. James Madison. Jordan McCloud had a career-high 457 passing yards and four touchdowns as the Dukes moved to 10-0 after thrashing UConn.

19. Tulane. Still No. 1 in the AAC and inching closer towards a New Year's Six bowl bid after holding off Tulsa in a 2-point decision. Tulane's sole loss is to Ole Miss.

18. Oklahoma State. Fresh off a statement win over OU last week, the Cowboys' five-game win streak came to a screeching halt after getting pasted 45-3 by UCF.

17. Tennessee. The Vols' heralded rushing attack ground to a halt against Missouri's defense and Joe Milton had a fumble and INT that turned into touchdowns as Big Orange dropped a third game of the year. Georgia is up next.

16. Utah. A close one at Washington, but the offense lost its rhythm in the second half and the Utes fall to 4-3 in conference play with Arizona upcoming.

15. LSU. Jayden Daniels became the 1st player in FBS history to have 350 yards passing and 200 yards rushing in a single game as the Tigers handled Florida at home. Daniels may have won the Heisman Trophy on Saturday.

14. Oklahoma. The Sooners recovered from a two-game losing streak by rushing for over 200 yards and Dillon Gabriel accounted for a school-record eight total touchdowns in a rout over West Virginia.

13. Ole Miss. The Rebs played Georgia close early on the road, but ultimately the defense couldn't hold against the Bulldogs' skill players in an ugly 52-17 decision, their second loss of the season.

12. Missouri. Cody Schrader had over 300 all-purpose yards by himself in the statement win over the Vols to move into sole position of second-place in the SEC East.

11. Penn State. The offense struggled in the most important game left on the schedule, and after a second loss this team is still taking home the bronze in the Big Ten East and failed to pass either of its most important tests this year.

10. Oregon State. Damien Martinez ran for four touchdowns as the Beavers took apart Stanford, moving to 8-2 ahead of statement games against Washington and Oregon, matchups in which they can cause some real havoc.

9. Louisville. The Cardinals held off Virginia by putting up 17 points in the fourth quarter in mid-week football but, after Carolina's win, they have to wait to clinch the other berth in the ACC title game.

8. Alabama. For the second straight week, the Crimson Tide scored over 40 points against a quality defense, Kentucky this time, as this team has dramatically improved in the last several weeks and clinched a spot in the SEC Championship Game.

7. Texas. TCU tacked on 20 points in the fourth quarter to make this closer than it should have been, but Quinn Ewers connected with Adonai Mitchell on a long pass play that saved the Longhorns' conference and College Football Playoff hopes.

6. Oregon. Bo Nix had a season-high passing effort, going over 400 yards to beat USC and stay at No. 2 in the Pac-12 at one loss.

5. Washington. For the first time since 1991, the Huskies are 10-0 and still holding firm at No. 1 in the Pac-12 with Oregon State and the Apple Cup to finish the regular season.

4. Florida State. Already assured a spot in the ACC Championship Game, the Seminoles held off Miami thanks in part to Trey Benson's two rushing touchdowns.

3. Ohio State. Marvin Harrison, Jr. scored three touchdowns in the first quarter as the Buckeyes took care of Michigan State. The defense allowed just 182 yards and it was the fourth time they held an opponent to under 10 points.

2. Michigan. The Wolverines played some Schembechler-ball and won the old-fashioned way without Jim Harbaugh on the sideline in a road test against Penn State to stay undefeated and the ostensible favorite to win the Big Ten title.

1. Georgia. After an even start against the Rebels, the Bulldogs made the adjustments to pull away and clinched the other spot in the SEC title game against the Tide.
