The Atlanta Braves are currently in first place in the National League East and have the most wins in the National League (25), but they have gotten consecutive days of bad news when it comes to ace pitchers.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Max Fried would head back to the injured list and would require a significant absence with a forearm issue.

On Wednesday, Kyle Wright, who won 21 games last season, said that he too would be out a while. He's dealing with a shoulder strain. He was on the injured list at the beginning of the season with a shoulder issue as well.

Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had the information in a Tweet:

Kyle Wright said it’s going to be a bit before he’s back. It looks like he may even take longer than Max Fried just because Wright’s shoulder issue is recurring (he dealt with it earlier this year). I’ll have more in a story this evening.

Wright is 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA this season after he went 21-5 last season. He led the National League in wins and posted a 3.19 ERA in just over 180 innings.

He finished 10th in the National League Cy Young voting and helped the Braves win the National League East. The Braves advanced to the playoffs but were beaten by the Philadelphia Phillies, who eventually went to the World Series.

The Braves wrap up a two-game series with the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. First pitch is 7:20 p.m. ET.
