The Tampa Bay Rays' game against the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday has been rescheduled to Saturday due to the forecast related to Hurricane Hilary, MLB announced in a press release Friday evening.

The Rays and Angels will play a double-header at Angel Stadium on Saturday, with game one starting at 4:07 p.m. ET and game two getting underway at 9:07 p.m. ET.

Fans who had tickets to Sunday's game will be allowed in for the early game Saturday. Tickets for the late game remain unchanged, per the league.

MLB additionally moved the Miami Marlins' game against the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks' game against the San Diego Padres from Sunday to Saturday. Those teams will also play double-headers Saturday, with the same ticket-holder policy in effect.

The National Hurricanes Center is reporting that Hurricane Hilary is projected to make landfall in Baja California early Sunday morning. The storm is expected to move north with wind speeds approaching 100 miles per hour, in addition to heavy rain, strong winds and heavy surf.

Hurricane Hilary is not the first to impact MLB games.

The league discussed contingency plans when Hurricane Ian threatened a series between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets last October. The Angels and Houston Astros were forced to postpone a game in 2021 due to Hurricane Laura, while the Marlins and Chicago Cubs had an entire series postponed by Hurricane Frances in 2004.

The Rays and Angels are on track to get in all of their games this time around, but only after some significant reshuffling from the league.
