UFC Announces Four New Fights for UFC Edmonton Card

Four more Canadians have been added to the upcoming UFC Edmonton card.

The UFC has officially unveiled four more fights that will take place when the promotion returns to Edmonton later this year.

Scheduled to take place on October 17 at Rogers Place, this year’s edition of UFC Edmonton is
headlined by a huge welterweight matchup between Canada’s Mike Malott and Joaquin Buckley.

Another top-ranked Canadian will also be in action during the co-main event when Jasmine Jasudavicius takes on Erin Blanchfield, and four more Canadian fighters have been added to the event as of this week.

Melissa Croden Set to Defend Top 10 Ranking at UFC Edmonton

Of the four fights announced for UFC Edmonton, the most significant one for the UFC rankings is a women’s bantamweight clash featuring Melissa Croden and Chelsea Chandler.

Croden is only three fights into her UFC career, but she currently occupies the #9 spot in the women’s bantamweight rankings after taking a unanimous decision over Darya Zheleznyakova at UFC Winnipeg in April.

Chandler was last in action at UFC Vegas 118 in June, where she snapped a two-fight skid and picked up her first win since 2024 when she submitted Priscila Cachoeira with an armbar in the opening round.

Katlyn Cerminara Ends Lengthy Layoff With UFC Edmonton Fight

UFC Edmonton also added another women’s bout between Canadian Jamey-Lyn Horth and former flyweight title challenger Katlyn Cerminara, who will be making her return to the Octagon for the first time in more than two and a half years.

Cerminara is currently on a two-fight skid after dropping decisions to Manon Fiorot and Maycee Barber, while Horth is also looking to return to the win column after a two-fight win streak was halted by JJ Aldrich her last time out.

Heavyweights & Middleweights Look to Rebound at Rogers Place

In the heavyweight division, Tanner Boser will attempt to secure his first win since rejoining the UFC when he takes on Jhonata Diniz.

Boser picked up two wins after exiting the UFC in 2023, but at UFC Winnipeg he was given a rude welcome back to the promotion when he was stopped by UFC newcomer Gokhan Saricam late in the second round.

Longtime middleweight veteran Marc-André Barriault will also return to action in Edmonton and try to snap a two -fight skid against Kyle Daukaus, who stopped back-to-back opponents after returning to the UFC last year but was knocked out by Bo Nickal at the UFC White House event in June.

With the addition of four new fights, UFC Edmonton is now up to eight scheduled bouts with just over two months to go until the event.
