UFC Sacramento: Hernandez vs. Rodrigues Full Fight Card Picks & Predictions

The UFC is in Sacramento, CA this week for another UFC Fight Night, and MMA KO’s Drew Beaupré is here to provide predictions for all 13 fights on the card.
The main event is a huge middleweight bout between top-ranked contenders Gregory Rodrigues and Anthony Hernandez, who is returning for the first time since Sean Strickland snapped his eight-fight win streak back in February.
The co-main event is also an important matchup for the heavyweight division, as Vitor Petrino looks to continue an unbeaten start to his career as a UFC heavyweight when he meets #9-ranked contender Serghei Spivac.
UFC Sacramento Main Card Predictions
Anthony Hernandez vs. Gregory Rodrigues

I understand why Hernandez is favored since he’s one loss removed from a huge win streak, but I’m siding with Rodrigues here given that he has a clear power advantage as well as a perennially underrated (and often underused) ground game.
(Pick: Rodrigues)
Serghei Spivac vs. Vitor Petrino

Petrino has looked good so far since moving up to heavyweight, but Spivac is a bit of a step up in competition compared to the fighters the Brazilian has beaten on his current three-fight win streak.
(Pick: Spivac)
Reinier de Ridder vs. Roman Dolidze

De Ridder is returning to light heavyweight for the first time since his ONE Championship days, and it’s hard to see a real avenue for Dolidze here when he’s also moving up a division and will likely be outmatched if things hit the ground.
(Pick: de Ridder)
MarQuel Mederos vs. Mason Jones

Jones has looked stellar since rejoining the UFC last year, and victory over Mederos would be another impressive addition to the Welshman’s current win streak.
(Pick: Jones)
Carli Judice vs. Jeisla Chaves

The second of two women’s fights scheduled for UFC Sacramento is one of the most well-matched bouts on the card, and Judice should be able to get things done in what will hopefully be an entertaining scrap.
(Pick: Judice)
Anthony Wint vs. Terrance Chatman
This matchup was pretty clearly thrown together in order to start building hype around Wint, who should extend his unbeaten record even if I don’t love how overwhelmingly-lopsided the current betting odds are.
(Pick: Wint)
UFC Sacramento Preliminary Card Predictions
Jamall Emmers vs. Lerryan Douglas

Emmers comes into this fight following a couple of solid wins, but it’s hard to pick against Douglas after the Brazilian extended his lengthy win streak with another finish in his UFC debut earlier this year.
(Pick: Douglas)
Shamil Gaziev vs. Kennedy Nzechukwu

Both of these men are well over a year removed from their last wins, and I think Gaziev is the more likely one to get back on track in what may unfortunately end up being a slow-paced heavyweight bout.
(Pick: Gaziev)
Nasrat Haqparast vs. Chris Padilla

In perhaps the most underrated fight on the card, I expect that Padilla will bounce back from a majority draw in his last outing against what should be a very game opponent in Haqparast.
(Pick: Padilla)
Marcio Barbosa vs. Ryan Kuse

Coming off an impressive stoppage in his own UFC debut, Barbosa looks poised to spoil Kuse’s arrival in the promotion in potentially devastating fashion.
(Pick: Barbosa)
Gauge Young vs. Stan Dorsainvil
Dorsainvil is a great pickup for the UFC, and I think he’s going to introduce himself to a whole lot of new fans with an upset win in Sacramento.
(Pick: Dorsainvil)
Jackson McVey vs. Wes Schultz
McVey has the power necessary to sleep Schultz if he gets careless here, but I’ll side with “Party Time” to get his wrestling going in order to secure his second UFC victory in a row.
(Pick: Schultz)
Shanelle Dyer vs. Elise Reed

Reed has alternated wins and losse since joining the UFC, but this matchup with Dyer will likely leave her on the first two-fight skid of her entire MMA career.
(Pick: Dyer)
